Still looking for a great deal on a netbook? I’ll save you the trouble of scouring the internet, and bring you some of the best deals on some nice ones, all at the under $300 price point.
Starting off, we have the Lenovo S-10e from NewEgg. The pluses are that it has the Atom N270 chip, a 160 GB hard drive, Windows XP and Lenovos are generally high quality. The downs are only 2 USB ports, only a 3 cell battery, shift key is small and to the right of the up arrow, and the 1024 x 576 pixel screen display. I find it a bargain at a mere $230 with free shipping. You can read a review over here.
If you would rather get a Dell, dude, then you can get the Inspiron Mini 10. It has the same 3 cell battery, and Windows XP, and the N270 chip with 160 gig hard drive. However, the pixel resolution is a more standard 1024 x 600, and the shift key is more standardly configured. You can decide if it is worth pushing the plastic card debt up to $279…or not. There is a review of it here.
For the same amount of dough as the Dell, you can also choose the Samsung Mini N130. It is the cheaper version of the Samsung netbooks, and is currently $279 on Amazon. While nothing exceptional, the one advantage is that it has a 6 cell battery, and a well configured keyboard. The larger power source gives it a runtime of 5.8 hours; an attractive feature for those that want a netbook hat can go for longer between charges. You can find the deal here, and the once over here.
