It looks like we have yet another model to choose from in the ever expanding lineup of Eee PC’s. The latest is the Eee PC 1005P and 1005PE, both of which are promising a long battery life and are powered by an Intel Atom N450 processor. Of course, with with the availability of Pineview netbooks coming up quickly, you better react quickly with these Intel Atom models, that way you can enjoy it for a little longer without having it be old news. But really, the Intel Atom models will still be perfectly functional.
That said, the 1005P and the 1005PE will both feature 10-inch (1024 x 600) Wide SVGA displays, Intel Atom N450 processors, 1GB of RAM and be running Windows 7 Starter. Additionally, they will both be sporting 6-cell batteries, but it was noted that the 1005P will have slightly less power. One of the differences between the P and the PE will come in the form of storage, the 1005P will have a 160GB drive with the 1005PE coming in higher at 250GB.
Then both models will have the typical netbook features including built-in card readers, built-in webcams, three USB ports, VGA out, microphone in, line out as well as Ethernet and Wi-Fi.
And in typical Asus fashion, the model specs and images appear before any information regarding pricing or availability. But I would imagine we will be hearing more on the Eee PC 1005 before to long.
