I often joke and poke fun at the fact that most netbooks feature the same set of specs, which often include an Intel Atom N270/N280 processor with Intel GMA 950 for graphics. But with that there are others out in the available market, and despite being what would appear to be just a small difference, it could lead to incompatibility issues. Anyway, those other specs, which are not quite as common include an Intel Atom Z520/Z530 processor with Intel GMA 500 for graphics.
That said, the Jolicloud team is looking to expand their support and have recently sent a mesage (via Twitter) stating that the;
“team is testing internally the poulsbo (gma 500) support in the next jolicloud release, we will look soon for testers”
Unfortunately this means those running a netbook with the Z520/Z530 and GMA 500 combination will still have a little while to wait before they can begin running Jolicloud. But on the positive side, it is nice to see the team is actively working on making that support a reality. And for those that may be interested in doing some testing, you may want to keep an eye on the Jolicloud Twitter account.
