CrunchPad, Netbooks, Tablet PC

CrunchPad Crunched

From the summer, we saw that the CrunchPad was expected to come this November.  To refresh your memory, this device promised to be an inexpensive tablet style device, that was gonna deliver on a $400 price point.  In short, a tablet pc for the masses with lots of function, and none of the bloat.

Many, including me, were hoping that such a device was real, but now it appears to be another example of vaporware.  It looks now that the device, with its parts including an Atom processor and a gig of RAM would have come in at too high a price point.  Personally, it might still find a niche market, but it appears to be dead for the time being.  All I can say is that this is too bad as there is still a void for such a product to fit onto living room tables everywhere to answer those burning questions of where we have seen that actor before from the IMDB.
