In the past my Linux distro of choice has always been Ubuntu, and although that has recently switched over to Jolicloud I am still holding a little flame towards Ubuntu. With that, today is a good day for all Ubuntu fans alike because version 9.10 (also known as Karmic Koala) has been released.
I will say that I have not yet downloaded or tested Karmic Koala personally, but thus far have only read good things about it. In other words I would say it is more than safe to give it a go. Of course, if you are choosing to go ahead with the install — make sure you back up any important data before you begin.
One of the new features that come along with the Karmic Koala is “Ubuntu One” which is a new way for you to upload, share and/or backup files. The nice part here is that Ubuntu One is free for all users and includes a reasonable 2GB of storage space. Additionally, storage upgrades are available.
Finally, as we have seen with past releases, Ubuntu 9.10 is available in the regular desktop version (download page) as well as the Netbook Remix version (download page).
