I still have to admit that the Sony VAIO X netbook really makes no sense to me. On the one hand, Sony makes a netbook that is insanely thin, that so many folks would love to have in their gadget bags. Carbon fiber is a great material and can allow such a thin machine to be made. However, on the other hand, they charge such a premium price for this thing, that it is way out of netbook territory, and into premium ultraportable land, putting it up against the most expensive laptops out there. Then, they give the VAIO X an Atom processor, that puts it back into netbook performance.
They either need to give it a better processor, or they need to price it more reasonably as what they have gets lots of “Awws,” but very few sales. A netbook that starts at $1299? Gimme a break…
