Wal-Mart has rebranded computers before, and I suspect that is what we are seeing again. It looks like they are now selling their own brand of netbook, named Mirius. Here’s to watching out for falling prices…
- 10.2″ LCD display, 1024 x 600
- Intel Atom N270
- 1 GB DDR2 RAM
- 120 GB SATA hard drive
- WiFi b/g/n
- 3 USB ports
- VGA port
- Flash card reader
- Built in webcam, 1.3 MP
- 3 cell battery, 2.2 hour runtime
- Windows XP Home
- 2.8 pounds
Overall, this is a pretty mainstream netbook, and the specs are all standard to what we would see over the summer, except the hard drive is 120 gigs, while most are 160 gigs. Still, for $248, this is a great deal as it is a new product, and not a refurb. I could see this being a strong seller for the holidays, even given its somewhat anemic runtime.

I saw a tv show last week about this. It wasn’t as exciting as your writing.
