Just yesterday during an investor conference Asus CEO Jerry Shen made it official — Asus will be launching a Snapdragon powered Smartbook in the first quarter of 2010. And the best part is that smartbook is expected to be priced somewhere around NTD6000 (about $185 US).
According to Shen, this smartbook, or more generally speaking, the smartbook category could be their “secret weapon” due to the potential for growth. Perhaps growth similar to what they saw when the Eee PC was released.
That said, it seems a far cry from the no clear market comments that Jerry Shen was making just a few months back.
Unfortunately, details about the specific model were not revealed.
