Trying to keep up with Asus, their rival Acer has a new model in the works. Rumored in May, the Acer Aspire One 571 took one step closer today to being an actual product.
Not to be confused with the Aspire One 751, which has an 11.6″ screen, the 571 is slated to be a 10.1″ model, with a higher resolution screen. We’re talking 1280 x 720 which is honest to goodness HD display. To give some graphics muscle for this, there is a rumored multimedia chip from Quartics that can do up to 1080p video. There may also be a Vmedia drive to provide video content, and use the Intel Atom N280 chip.
The confirmation of the model, is that today, on the Acer site, they put a page up of drivers for the new 571 model. No word on when the 571 will be released.
