Asus unveils an 8.9-inch Disney-branded netbook

Disney and Asus have recently unveiled a Disney-branded netbook that in obvious fashion will be aimed at children. The netbook is called the Disney Netpal and will (at least on the insides) be similar to many other netbook models. Of course, there is one interesting item to note in terms of size — the Disney Netpal is seeing a return of the 8.9-inch display, something that Asus has recently moved away from.

Otherwise, the Disney Netpal will also feature an Atom processor, as well as an option to have either a 16GB SSD or 160GB hard drive.

As for exterior colors, as you would expect with a Disney-branded anything, the Netpal will be available in a few fancy sounding colors to include “Magic Blue” and “Princess Pink.” Under the hardware, the Netpal will be running Windows XP Home, of course it will have a “kid-friendly” user-interface on the top.

The Disney Netpal will be available from Amazon and Toys-r-Us beginning in late July and will retail for $350.
