Apple MacBook Air…Mini?

While many companies have adapted their product line to include a netbook or two, there has been one company that has stayed away- Apple.  One of the reasons they have stayed out of this segment is that the profits are razor thin in these bargain machines.  Still, I think many of us would love to see a netbook with the Apple touch applied.  There have been many rumors, but this one is intriguing me.  This Apple MacBook Air Mini might have the following specs:

• 10.4? WXGA display.
• 1280 x 768 pixel with LED backlighting.
• NVIDIA MCP79
• Intel Atom Z740 1.83GHz with 1MB L2 cache.
• 2GB DDR3-800.
• NVIDIA GeForce 9400M
• 64GB Solid State Drive.
• Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n
• 1 x USB 2.0
• 1 x Mini Display Port
• Battery Li-Ion 5100mA

The specs look solid, except for the solitary USB port, but the $899 price tag is a wee bit high.  The machine could be sold for less with a non flash based hard drive.  Then again, April Fool’s is coming this week, and I’m not sure there even is an Atom Z740 processor…
