The folks at Laptop Mag have taken a look at the new ASUS Eee PC 1000HE netbook. Recall that this model features the new Intel Aton N280 processor. In their preliminary benchmarks, the slightly faster Atom N280 was only marginally faster than the N270 which is not surprising at all. Another highlight includes the 6 cell battery that suggests that this model is good for hours of work (ASUS states it can go for 8 hours but this in unconfirmed so far). The other highlight of the 1000HE is the new keyboard that is being dubbed “chiclet style.” The keyboard is reportedly impvoed with a better feel, less flex, and even a faster typing score. Overall, it looks like ASUS made moves in all the right places.
