Netbooks generally have come with one of two screen sizes: 8.9″ or 10.1″. (We’ll leave the debate of if a 12″ LCD is truly a netbook or just an underpowered notebook for another day.) At any rate, the larger screen size is pretty much preferred as it offers a much more usable screen, and in most cases a larger keyboard. The price difference is generally not that great, and at list amounts to around $50, a reasonable price premium to gain such functionality.
With that in mind, it comes as no surprise that Acer is strongly considering phasing out their 8.9″ models. This is reportedly to make room for their newer 10.1″ models. This change is expected to happen in the second quarter of this year.
